Gavin McKenzie
A 5th generation Miami native, Gavin McKenzie is a passionate advocate of the environment. Growing up in South Florida, he spent his childhood experiencing the raw beauty of the region’s unique ecosystems and magnificent inhabitants. An avid fisherman and outdoorsman, Gavin believes that protecting these magical places is part of our basic responsibility as humans. Through photography and activism, he aims to share his passion and to inspire others.
Gavin is owner and CEO of Build McKenzie. Founded in 2005, Build McKenzie is a boutique design, build and custom fabrication firm providing high-quality services and products to South Florida commercial and residential clients. The craft division is a high-end millwork, metalwork and architectural concrete fabrication shop. The 25,000 sf office and workshop is located in a 1938 converted warehouse space in Miami’s industrial Allapattah neighborhood.
Gavin serves on the board of The South Florida National Parks Trust, The Dade Heritage Trust, and Herman Lucerne Memorial Foundation.
